Senior Dating is a Great Idea |

In some cultures people believe that when a woman’s spouse dies she should mourn his passing for the rest of her life by wearing black, behaving modestly and never dating or marrying again. I don’t like this custom at all. My husband is significantly older than me and I’m quite sure that if anything were to happen to him he wouldn’t want me to live my life alone for the rest of my days. The opposite is also true. I think senior dating is a great idea. Love and friendship don’t have to be things of the past just because you are a woman or a man of a certain age. If you’ve been windowed, that doesn’t mean you have to stop living your life. Senior dating is not an act of betrayal. It doesn’t mean that you have forgotten your late spouse or that you are looking for somebody to take their place. Instead senior dating via a matchmaking service offers a way of finding the company of likeminded people with whom you can engage in the hobbies that you enjoy. Isn’t that better than sitting around in the house waiting for family members who are preoccupied with their own lives to visit you? Memories are precious, but life is for living not dwelling on the past.
